Real Change is All About Consistency

Uncategorized Feb 16, 2020

Do you want to change your body, and therefore, change your life? If so, then you have to be consistent. That is the key to transformation. The truth is, even a mediocre program can give you results when you’re consistent. Consistency with a better program? That’s when you see a dramatic change.

A common question we get is “how much do I have to do to get results?” The answer is that what you get out is what you put in. Our programs are catered to each individual. And, when you do the work, you get the maximum results for your efforts. However, if you aren’t doing the work, no amount of customization for a health and fitness regimen will matter.

Take the example of how to do handstand walking. The average person in good health might be able to do a handstand, but most likely they wouldn’t be able to walk on their hands. In fact, most people wouldn’t even be able to do a handstand at all. But, if they consistently worked on it, and kept at it, I’d be willing to bet that eventually, they could walk around on their hands without trouble. Would it be perfect? Not for a while. Still, with consistent practice, it is achievable.

Another example would be my kids asking how to be good at piano or figure skating. I would tell them to practice consistently, and they would be able to do those activities after some time. It’s the same with transforming your body. Once you commit to acting consistently, you get that much closer to meeting your health and fitness goals.

On the flip side of that, what happens when you aren’t consistent with your nutrition and working out? You guessed it. Nothing. Committing to a lifestyle change is more than just showing up occasionally and expecting results. You have to do the work regularly in order to have the outcome you desire.

It’s often been said that it takes 21 days to develop a new practice into a habit. I feel that you need to go even longer than that to really cement the new habits into your neural pathways. And, I’m not saying you need to do big things every day. However, I am saying you should do something every single day to transform yourself.

This could be as simple as taking an hour a day to drink more water, go for a walk, and plan better meals for yourself. Or it could be a little more intense such as also doing a two-hour workout several days a week. Again, the point is, that you get out what you put into any practice that you want to become a way of life for yourself.

How do you start? First, commit to it. Decide that you want this and that transforming your body is a priority for you. Then, start working towards your goals daily. Consistent action is where the magic happens. It’s where the confidence is formed. And, it’s what will give you the ability to achieve your goals.
